First Community Working Group Meeting a Success!

November 4, 2025

Cypress Creek is proud to be a committed partner to Elbert County. Last spring, we made a promise to the County Commissioners—and to the community—to ensure this project benefits everyone. One of those commitments was the creation of a Community Working Group, designed to keep residents informed during construction and provide a forum for meaningful input on key decisions.

This group isn’t just about updates—it’s about collaboration. Together, we’re shaping how to invest $300,000 over three years into initiatives that make a lasting, positive impact across the county. These funds represent more than a financial commitment; they reflect our belief that strong projects build stronger communities.

We’re excited to share that the first round of decisions is complete, and every selected initiative is poised to deliver real benefits for Elbert County residents. These projects are just the beginning of what we can accomplish together.

Here are the first round of community investment decisions, totaling $95,000:

  • Elbert County School District C-2 — Agriculture CTE Program — $12,000
  • Elizabeth High School — Automotive Program — $12,000
  • Big Sandy School District — Radio receivers for school busses — $12,000
  • Town of Simla — Walkie-talkies — $5,000
  • Kiowa Creek Food Bank — General Donation — $6,000
  • Elizabeth Food Bank — General Donation — $6,000
  • ECCO — Christmas for Kids events — $13,000
  • Your Community Woodbank — Firewood for those in need — $3,500
  • American Legion Ehrler-Finkbinder Post 82 — Meals for Senior Citizens — $4,000
  • DADS of Elbert County — General Donation — $5,000
  • Elbert County Sheriff’s Victim Assistance — Senior Luncheon and Paint the Bliss events — $6,000

  • Elizabeth Chamber of Commerce — Shop Local Initiatives — $2,500
  • Kiowa Lion’s Club — Glasses Initiative — $1,000

Our goal is simple: listen, engage, and invest in ways that matter most to Elbert County. Because when we work together, the entire community thrives.
